Has everyone listened to Gina's podcast this week? No? You should. Sleepy Eyes Knits is always a fun podcast, for me, its increased tenfold by the fact that I know her and I can see her in my mind as she talks. And you should really listen to the most recent one.
Why? As if you should have to ask! Shame on you!
No, really, she said some absolutely fantastic things about Down to Hearth this last trip around, and my head is sufficiently swollen.
To celebrate this momentous occasion (flattery and praise are always momentous around here) I present Down to Hearth's newest soapy flavor: Brownie Batter.
That's right, brownie batter. I spent a few hours with it last night, from fat to mold, and I have to tell you, I think I gained three pounds. In the future, I think I'm going to have to stock some cocoa butter, because it just feels right. I don't know if I'll replace one of my base fats, or if I'll fuss with the percentages and add it. But right now the base recipe is setting with that wonderful fragrance (and some cocoa, for color) and I should have it cut up to bring to knitting on Wednesday for sniffing. It won't be fully cured until after next week.
I got some other new fragrances, most notable a Hungarian lavender. Essential oils all the way for my lav/euc soaps. Lavender fragrance won't keep a moth away, but the essential oil will. That's useful information for those of you not using your soap, but throwing it in with your knitting, which, for me, as a knitter, is use enough ;) I also got the essential oils to make a rosemary mint, which will totally give you a lift. Coming soon!
As for knitting, I'm sad to say it's being neglected. I've been soaping and spinning instead. I've got one sock that needs a kitchener treatment. One mitten that needs a few rows, a kitchener treatment, and a thumb, and one sleeve that needs maybe a half of an hour of my time. Problems? Thats the first sock, first mitten, and first sleeve.
I might try to get something done before I post again. No promises. ;)

Hi! Can't wait to smell this new soap. Will you bring it to group on Wed.? Are we able to buy from you directly?
