You may have already heard about it, if you keep up with "the network", but in case not, let me illuminate.
This weekend the Manch Vegas Knitters got together with Chick with Sticks of York, Maine. This is Julie's group and they meet at The Yarn Sellar. Let me first say that this is a delightful shop owned and run by delightful people. I fully believe that a working table, for people to knit at and gather around, should be the heart of any LYS. This was the way it was here. We gathered around, Laurin (who was there completely by chance. Her SIL lives in York and wanted to show her this new shop, and Laurin walked in and there we were!), Gaye, Gina, Melissa, Amanda, Amanda's Chris, my Chris, Heather, Jackie, Lora and myself with Julie, Mary, Patti, Marsha, Margaret, and Lisa (and Roger, who doesn't knit, but who does help run a yarn shop, and who enjoyed the company with or without a project of his own) of Chick's with Sticks, around this wonderfully inviting table. We snacked (even after the great Chinese food that we got right next door), shopped, and talked. And talked. And TALKED!
We make friends pretty easily, and this was a great group to meet. I can usually tell in 10 minutes of so if we've chased someone away, and I didn't have a fear in the world for this group. The Manch Vegas Knitters are larger, louder, and baudier than your normal knitting group, and I don't think it phased Chicks with Sticks one bit. In fact, we're already talking about the next visit.
No pictures in this post, but I'm going to post again tonight with Actual Knitting Content. That's right, this weeks AKC will be brought to you by a fully finished Cable Wise Cashmere, a completed Aran for Kadin (by Chris), and the beginnings of first thing I've ever knit for myself that wasn't socks or a scarf. And the letters K and N. Tune in next time!
Larger, Louder, and Baudier than your Normal Knitting Group... do we have our new tshirt?

The would be the perfect t-shirt!!! Wasn't it an awesome time?? not a thing could have made it better. I put a pic of Chris and his sweater on my blog, but I didn't get the Cable-wise -- can't wait to see it modeled!

It was SUCH a good time. I wish we had a chance to talk more... but with 20 +/- people that happens!

I would love to see a picture of your Cable-Wise Cashmere being modeled. Am considering it, but would like to see how it looks on!
